Electrical Design Engineer (m/f)

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Electrical Engineering development of new electronics products with a focus on electrical design as part of the company global electrical engineering team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Execute electrical engineering design of circuits to meet customer requirements. Execute electrical engineering design of circuits with electrical component engineering to confirm component quality and validation. Execute worst case circuit analysis as a requirement for all schematic designs as part of the hardware requirements for all launch products. Execute the golden schematic documentation and application as part of the hardware requirements for all launch products. Execute the use of simulation in the evaluation of new designs. Ensure that design guidelines are created and maintained. Support the development of test requirements to confirm the quality of electronic components, circuits, and products to meet requirements. Coordinate with Electrical Hardware Requirements Engineering to meet customer specification requirements. Coordinate software test with Electrical Hardware Project Engineering to assure electronics hardware integration. Interface with Mechanical Engineering, Microelectronics Assembly, Electronics Assembly, Final Assembly, Applied Materials, and Quality departments to support the execution of Electrical Engineering products into applications. Participate in Product Launch Teams as required.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain knowledge of company electrical, mechanical, test, and manufacturing practices and engineer consistent with them. Avoid company politics and promote cooperation and consensus teamwork for the common good of all employees across all departments. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.

POSITION DEMANDS:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Proven success in electrical design in an automotive application environment preferred. Proven success in DSP and FPGA application environments preferred. In depth knowledge of Mentor Graphics development environment preferred. Fluent in German and English.

Electrical Project Engineer Automotive (m/f)

 PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

• Technically support Program Management on targeted, launching and shipping business. Have an in depth, hands-on technical knowledge in EE Hardware, SW and CAN/LIN communications.

• Responsible for support of a specific OEM(s) and Program Management in:

• Targeted business. Support with account management, customers, internal organizations

• Launching business. Support of cross functional teams to ensure product, timing, and quality expectations are met.

• Shipping business. Coordination and support of current and/or ongoing business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide support to the company program management, operations, and sales/engineering offices in support of current and ongoing business.

• Support and maintain the company engineering and manufacturing standards as well as the formal operating systems defined by the company, AIAG, and QS 9000, TS16949.

• Support Program Manager with all activities specific to EE HW design, SW development and vehicle integration (CAN/LIN protocols).

• Obtain and support team with customer and the company requirements documentation, including translations as needed.

• Make sure new designs utilize parts, methods, and practices, which are practical and realistic in actual production.

• Obtain cost summaries and work with the company financial departments to develop selling price recommendations.

• Work with internal departments, customers, and sales department to assure test completion for production release.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the company team in developing and maintaining a quality and trusting supplier base (as needed).

• Manage product cost savings through launch process.

• Avoid company politics and promote cooperation and teamwork for the common good of all employees across all departments.

POSITION DEMANDS:

• Language skills required– German and English.

• Ability to develop others through support, managing, coaching, delegating, and personal leadership.

• University degree in Electrical Engineering required

• Ability to manage design solution in supporting of customer and Gentex standards.

• Knowledge of automotive standards and specifications within Gentex core technologies.

• Five to Ten years related work experience is preferred.

• Good management skills relating to people, cost, and customer interaction preferred.

• Ability to understand the language and customs of the assigned countries.

• Basic PC skills required.

Product Design Engineer

PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

• Design and project engineering for inside and outside mirror components. Supervision and cooperation for prototyping

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Develops designs starting with sketches via assembly to detail construction for the appropriate peripherals of the vehicle

• Customer support in application challenges regarding existing regulations and other requirements

• Supervises and compiles prototypes, in alignment with the respective suppliers

• Establishes a validation of the design through design FMEAs, DOE and feasibility analysis

• Develops innovative improvements within the patent situation, initiates if applicable new patents

• Secures CAD data quality and drawings for customer specific requirements

• Maintains the technical documentation (drawing management, specifications, standards and regulations)

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports the CAD developer at the HQ with preparation of data and drawings

• Prepares technical master documentation for presentations

POSITION DEMANDS:

• MSc. or BSc. in mechanical/technical engineering preferred

• Five years work experience in the automotive OEM or automotive supplier industry

• Extensive knowledge in the area of CAD design, especially CATIA V5 or NX, in solid and surface design and drafting

• Familiarity with quality standards according to TS 16949:2002

• Good skills in English language and communication

• Good skills in MS-Office applications
